The child care protocol has been updated regarding stay-at-home rules for the child if someone in the child’s household has health issues. See what rules apply when a child’s roommate or pm’er/host parent has tested positive for COVID-19.
The rules below have been modified cq. added to the protocol:
Children’s stay-at-home rules
- If someone in the children’s household has been tested for COVID-19 and has a positive test result, the advice of the Public Health Service on what action to take is leading.
- Children must then remain quarantined at home for up to 10 days after the last risk contact with the infected housemate, if there is strict self-isolation (that is, no risk contact between the infected person and all housemates).
- If strict self-isolation is not possible, children must remain in quarantine up to and including 10 days after the housemate with COVID-19 is allowed out of isolation.
- If the housemate has tested positive and strict self-isolation (with no risk contact with housemates) is possible, then after 10 days of quarantine, all other housemates (including children) may return to the outside/care/school/work provided they have not developed symptoms.
Staff stay-at-home rules
- If someone in the staff member’s/guest parent’s household has been tested for COVID-19 and has a positive test result, the GGD’s advice on what action to take is leading.
- Staff/guest parents must then remain quarantined at home until 10 days after the last risk contact with the infected housemate, if there is strict self-isolation (that is, no risk contact between the infected person and all housemates).
- If strict self-isolation is not possible, staff/host parents must remain in quarantine up to and including 10 days after the housemate with COVID-19 is allowed out of isolation.
- If the roommate has tested positive and strict self-isolation (with no risk contact with roommates) is possible, then after 10 days of quarantine, all other roommates may return to the outside/shelter/school/work provided they have not developed symptoms.
Child care protocol
The protocol childcare & corona serves as a guide for the childcare sector when working in times of COVID-19 and is a translation of the RIVM guidelines to the specific situation of childcare. The protocol was drawn up by the Brancheorganisatie Kinderopvang, the Branchevereniging Maatschappelijke Kinderopvang, BOinK, Voor Werkende Ouders and FNV in consultation with the Ministry of SZW.
