Wednesday, Sept. 30, kicked off the annual Children’s Book Week. This year with the theme “back in time.
(Reading aloud) contributes to children’s language and speech development and develops concentration and listening skills.
Moreover, reading aloud provides a moment of connection and stimulates children’s imagination and creativity.

Therefore, we try to integrate (pre)reading into our daily program as much as possible.
Through a fun improvisational performance, Professor Cool, a creation of Visjen (Jenne Minnema), takes the children “back in time.
And the great thing is, the performance is for AND by the children. They decide what time it is set in and what history elements it contains.
This allows them to nicely tap into their imagination and draw on their knowledge of history.
This is how focusing on reading becomes fun!
