We offer room for development
We work from our hearts and with passion for children’s development. Providing them an enjoyable day and encouraging them to grow and develop. So that parents can combine care and work with peace of mind.
As a foundation, we do this on a non-profit basis. We invest our profits in improving the quality of our services and the development or (further) training of our employees.
With our origins in 1984, Kinderopvang Huizen has grown into the largest childcare organization in Huizen and Blaricum with daycare, preschool and out-of-school care for children ages 0 through 12!
In everything we do, we act from our vision:
Childcare Huizen encourages children and employees to develop themselves.
Children and employees discover their talents and what makes them happy.
Employees further develop as educational professionals who enjoy their work.
And parents… they can balance family and work with confidence and peace of mind.
A flat organizational structure
We believe it is important that our employees are given room to develop and are challenged to actively participate in thinking about our policies and services. This is why we have a flat organizational structure, with short lines of communication.
Daily management
Our day-to-day management is in the hands of our Executive Director Irene van den Haak. She is ultimately responsible for our services and is concerned with quality, strategic direction, our financial position and networking.
Down the line
Our Executive Director Irene van den Haak directly manages the Team and Unit Managers. The Team Managers each manage the pedagogical staff of a number of care locations. The Unit Managers each manage a team in the Service Bureau, which includes disciplines such as Customer Contact, Human Resources, Finance and Quality & Pedagogy.
Our employees are our strength
Working from the heart, with a passion for children and a healthy dose of enthusiasm, is what connects us as staff at Kinderopvang Huizen. To ensure that an employee does or continues to do what he or she is good at, we encourage personal development. So that challenge and motivation in their professional life remains.
Supervisory Board
The chief executive officer meets regularly (at least six times a year) with the supervisory board. It oversees and advises the board on the continuity of the organization, the quality of child care, developments in the market, personnel and organizational developments, operations and financial results. Members are independent and thus have no direct relationship with the organization.
The supervisory board consists of four members:
Works Council
The interests of our employees are represented by the Works Council (OR). OR members come from different disciplines of the organization. The OR advises the chief executive officer on day-to-day policies, developments and strategic direction. Members are in close contact with the staff and feedback and coordination is sought regularly.
The OR also meets twice a year with the Supervisory Board.
Working with parents through parent committees
We involve parents in our services as much as possible. This is why we welcome the parent committees (OCs) of our locations. A source of inspiration for us, to continuously develop our policies regarding safety, education, health, opening hours, activities and pricing policies.
The parent committee meets several times a year with the Team Manager to discuss these issues.
Central Parents’ Committee
From each OC, a delegate sits on the Central Parents’ Committee (COC). The COC advises and thinks organization-wide with the Executive-director on policies to be implemented.
Topics such as service quality, strategic direction, market trends and pricing are discussed. An annual meeting with the Supervisory Board is also held.
Curious about the parent committee or signing up?
Are you interested in being a member of your location’s parent committee to help think and advise on our services? Inquire with the site Team Manager about options. You can also sign up at coc@kinderopvanghuizen.nl.
