What types of care does Kinderopvang Huizen offer?
We offer 3 different shelter types;
- Nurseries for children from 6 weeks to 4 years of age;
- Preschool services for toddlers aged 2 to 4;
- Extracurricular care for children ages 4 through 12.
On what days is Kinderopvang Huizen open?

What are horizontal and vertical groups?
- In a horizontal group, children of the same age sit together. For example, at a nursery the 3+ group or at an after-school program a group for 4 and 5 year olds.
- In a vertical group, children of different ages sit together. At a nursery, for example, this is the 0 to 3 years group. And in after-school care, for example, a group from 5 to 12 years old.

- Our daycare centers are open year-round with the exception of national holidays.

Does Kinderopvang Huizen’s child care fall under the Child Care Act?

What is the Landelijk Register Kinderopvang (LRK)?
The National Childcare Register is a list of all registered childcare facilities in the Netherlands. Host parents are also listed.

Are all branches of Kinderopvang Huizen registered in the National Register of Childcare?

What does Kinderopvang Huizen need my Citizen Service Number (BSN) for?
Due to the right to childcare allowance or subsidy from the municipality, childcare organizations are legally authorized – and even obliged – to register the Citizen Service Number (BSN) of parents and the children placed in their care. The BSN allows individuals to be uniquely identified.
How can I enroll my child?
You can enroll your child by filling out the

Does Kinderopvang Huizen maintain a minimum number of care days?
- There is a minimum purchase of 1 day for the nursery;
- The following applies to toddler care in the municipality of Huizen:
- Under the Child Care Act a minimum intake of 2 mornings;
- With subsidy from the municipality for a VE indication a minimum purchase of 3 mornings;
- With subsidy from the municipality for a breadwinner family a minimum purchase of 2 mornings;
- The following applies to toddler care in the BEL municipality (Blaricum, Eemnes and Laren):
- Under the Child Care Act a minimum intake of 2 mornings;
- With subsidy from the municipality for a VE indication a minimum purchase of 4 mornings;
- With subsidy from the municipality for a breadwinner family a minimum purchase of 2 mornings;
- For after-school care, there is a minimum purchase of 1 afternoon.
How long until my child is placed?
We have a placement policy with the following order of priority:
- Children of employees;
- Children whose siblings have already been placed, if enrolled for at least 6 months;
- Children who are already placed but want different/multiple day parts, provided this does not interfere with new placement;
- Date of enrollment;
- In the case of a social/medical indication, it is decided in each case separately whether and to what extent priority will be given. The application must be accompanied by a statement from RIAGG or physician, for example, to substantiate the indication.
If there are more applications than places, waiting lists are established. Questions about enrollment or waiting lists can always be emailed to our Customer Contact Department.
Will I receive confirmation of my enrollment?
You can register via our online registration form. After registration you will immediately receive an email confirmation.
Is there a cost to register?
We do not charge a registration fee.
How can I cancel my registration?

When will I be told if a spot is available for my child?
If a spot is available for your child, you will be notified no later than three months in advance. Until a spot is available, you will not be notified.
Therefore, it is not possible for us to indicate when space does become available, as we depend on possible cancellations, preferred days and availability and room for advancement to follow-up groups.
How will my child’s place be confirmed?
Before committing to the placement, you will receive a digital contract from us. In addition to the most important name and address information, this contract includes, the placement start date, the type of care, location and the rate.
You can easily sign this contract digitally.
What happens after I return the contract?
After digitally signing the contract, a pedagogical staff member from the location will call you approximately two weeks before placement starts to schedule an intake interview and settling-in process.

Why should I register my child for daycare as early as possible?

- Children whose siblings have already been placed, if enrolled for at least 6 months;
- Children who are already placed but want different/multiple day parts, provided this does not interfere with new placement;
- Date of enrollment;
- In the case of a social/medical indication, it is decided in each case separately whether and to what extent priority will be given. The application must be accompanied by a statement from RIAGG or physician, for example, to substantiate the indication.
Thus, having a sibling in care determines, among other things, one’s place on the waiting list.
What are the terms of cancellation?
Termination of a contract must be submitted in writing via mail to the Customer Contact Department. A notice period of 1 month applies.
When will my child’s care contract end?
- For children in the nursery and preschool, the contract automatically ends when the age of 4 is reached. If the desire is for earlier termination of the contract, this must be submitted in writing via mail to the

What is included in the price?
This varies by shelter type:
- At the nursery, the rate includes diapers and food;

How do I pay the monthly child care fees?
Around the 15th of each month, we send out the invoice for the next month’s childcare fees. These fees are automatically collected from the account around the 25th. If direct debit is not possible, in consultation with Finance,you can look at another possibility.

Should I continue to pay in my child’s absence?
Yes, if your child is absent, the cost of care will be charged as usual. However, there is the possibility of exchanging the absent day to another day in the three weeks prior or the three weeks after the absent date.
Do I have to pay holidays and can I also exchange these days?
Yes, for holidays, childcare fees will be charged. For us, many costs also continue, such as rent, employees wages and other ongoing costs. However, there is the possibility of exchanging holidays to another day in the three weeks prior or the three weeks after the holiday.
Am I eligible for child allowance?

How can I apply for child care subsidies?
You can apply for childcare allowance via the Tax Authorities website.
Don’t wait too long to apply, otherwise you could miss out on money. Apply for the child care allowance no later than 3 months after your child care started.

Is it possible to have the childcare allowance transferred directly to Kinderopvang Huizen by the Inland Revenue?
No this is not possible. This is only possible if there is an agreement with the Internal Revenue Service. We do not have an agreement with the Internal Revenue Service.

What is the vacation credit and when can I use it?
If your child is in out-of-school care, your child is automatically signed out for the twelve-week
national school holidays
. You will receive a vacation-hour credit of 11 hours for these 12 weeks per calendar year, per contract day. This vacation hour credit can be used for requests during vacations, for study days or other additional school closing days.
Unused vacation credit hours expire at the end of the calendar year and are non-refundable. If you (partially) terminate the agreement before the end of the year, the freely disposable vacation credit hours will be recalculated. If you have taken too many hours, you will be charged for them.
Can my child attend bso before his4th birthday?
Is your child starting elementary school before his or her4th birthday? Then exceptionally, and only by agreement, out-of-school care can also begin a few weeks before the4th birthday.

Can my (former) partner and I get separate accounts to access the parent portal?
No this is not possible. Unless you both take part of the care days on contract.
I use the parent portal, but I do not want my child to be photographed. How can I indicate this?
When you first log in to the
Parent Portal
, you will need to answer some permission questions. Permission to photograph or not to photograph children is one of them. You can also adjust this later.
Can my child come an extra (mid)day?

you can always request an extra care (mid-day) day. Depending on occupancy in the group and the number of children registered, this request will be approved or not. We adhere to the work force-child ratio guidelines from the GGD. The cost for this extra care (mid-day) day will be calculated in the next invoice.

I use out-of-school care. Can I exchange a regular care day to a vacation care day?
At out-of-school care, a regular school day can only be exchanged to another school day. Exchange to a vacation day or extra opening day is not possible, this day can be taken from the vacation hours credit.
What is your pedagogical policy ?
We maintain a pedagogical policy for our three forms of care (daycare, preschool and out-of-school care) that is uniform in basis. However, there are discrepancies in certain age-specific points. Our educational policies can be found here.
What is your policy on illness and hygiene?

Yes indeed! In the

we have a child tracking system. In this system you can record your child’s developments.

- Does your child attend daycare or preschool? Then sign your child out for vacations through the
Parent Portal

What do I need to get started as a BOL/BBL intern:
There are several schools we cooperate with within Kinderopvang Huizen such as: ROC Hilversum, ROC van Amsterdam (in Almere) and ROC Utrecht in Amersfoort. Through these schools, you can get information about various courses within the child care industry.
Within Childcare, you can intern if you are taking a Pedagogy or Sports & Movement course.
Each intern/BBL employee is supervised on the job so that everything you learn in school can be applied on the job.

What is the application procedure for a BOL/BBL internship within the Huizen Childcare Foundation:
- Following your application and receipt of your CV, P&O will contact you by telephone. In this conversation, you will be asked about your wishes and get to know each other. If this introduction is positive, we will immediately make an appointment for a personal introduction at the office.
- First, we will get acquainted. We do this in the office and you could think of this interview as a1st job interview.
- After a positive introduction and after finding a suitable internship for BOL/BBL, you can participate at the location. Here you will also interact directly with the Team Manager of the location
- After a positive on-site introduction, we will schedule a start date depending on the documents we need to receive before your start. Consider a VOG, Internship Agreement and adding yourself to the persons registry.
